Upcoming Webinar:
Top 5 Tools for Microsoft Products

We are inviting you to join us as we outline the top five products for Microsoft in a webinar happening on March 22, 2023, at 12:00 PM EST. In this event, we will highlight solutions that transform your experience and provide the most added value to Microsoft tools and applications.

Microsoft, and its suite of applications, is one of the most used business tools around the world. This is the main platform where employees in an organization complete their daily tasks, communicate and collaborate, share and store information, and so much more. With the introduction of third-party applications, using Microsoft has become more powerful than ever.

And so, we partnered with Blumira, the leading cybersecurity provider of automated threat detection and response technology, and looked up what areas are best augmented by new technologies and what tools are the best in the league. In the webinar, we will focus on security, data migration, SharePoint development, accessibility, and patch management and share our findings with you.

Register for the webinar now and share it with your colleagues and friends who are looking to gain more knowledge in these topics.  See you then!

Design Element of the Month: Buttons

Buttons are important components of any site. It enables user interaction and provides users with clear action steps, creating a better user experience. Despite its importance, however, many designers tend to overlook its usefulness. At ShortPoint, there are many ways you can make use of buttons:

  • You can use it to encourage interaction on your page.
  • You can use it to improve user experience.
  • You can use it to create a clear user journey.

It is also important to consider the overall look of your buttons. Here are a few tips on designing buttons:

  • Add color to make your buttons stand out.
  • Add subtitles and icons to provide clear action steps to users.
  • Customize size and width to make it easier for users to interact with your buttons.

The Faces of ShortPoint

Meet Ezekiel, Our Technical Lead

The ShortPoint application is built by the best and brightest software engineers. We have a very diverse and knowledgeable team whose ideas come together to provide a product that makes your life in building intranets a breeze. This month, we will get to know a person leading one of our software development teams,  our Technical Lead, Ezekiel Ilori.

Ezekiel works out of Lagos, Nigeria. He describes himself simply as a software developer, a problem solver, and a believer that he can do whatever he sets his mind to. As a technical lead, he oversees the progress of work completed by his team and provides support and direction.

ShortPoint challenges Ezekiel to be a better engineer every day. He believes that “Communication, communication, and effective communication” is the key to becoming successful at work. This helps him understand what is required of him and allows him to express what he needs to achieve the desired results. On a lighter side, work at ShortPoint can easily become fun because “we have got amazing people here”, he says.

On rest days, you will find Ezekiel trying out other technology or pet projects. He is currently learning Goland and reading "Compilers, Principles, Techniques & Tools". One of his pet projects was building a Phone Number Verifier using the WhatsApp API back when it was publicly available. When not tinkering with tech, he loves to swim at the nearest beach destination and he goes to concerts or clubs with his loved ones.

Ezekiel has lived all his life within the bounds of Lagos state. He states that this has to change this year. A new adventure awaits and we hope to find out about it from him soon!

See you in March

More exciting news is planned for March. Stay tuned! And if you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback, please send us a note. We love to hear from you.
