Templates

Changes Ahead for ShortPoint Templates

templates library

While we didn't release new templates this month, we're working on something even better. Our team is redesigning how the entire Templates Library is organized to make it more intuitive and valuable for you.

We're revamping naming conventions, improving category structures, and creating a more practical navigation system so you can find exactly what you need without the confusion. We understand the current structure has been challenging to navigate, and we're committed to making it work better for our customers.

This reorganization will also guide our future template development, allowing us to focus on creating section and page templates in areas that matter most to you.

Stay tuned—these exciting improvements will be launching soon!

3 Ways to Organize Content Using the Search & Filter Toolbar

code design element

Have you discovered the Search & Filter Toolbar yet? If you haven’t, you’re missing out! It's a game-changer for organizing all those data points on your SharePoint page. Here are three fantastic ways this tool can make your life easier:

  1. Use the Search Widget to Look for Data
With the Search widget, you can quickly find what you need. It gives you a handy little search bar that you can use to get the information you want. Simply type, and your data pops up in seconds! No more hunting around your SharePoint page. Learn how to add and customize it in How to Use the Search Widget.
  2. Use the Sort Widget to Arrange Information
Looking for the most recent files on your SharePoint page? Or maybe you prefer everything neatly lined up alphabetically? It's all super easy! Just one quick click and you can instantly organize everything in ascending or descending order using Sort. It adapts to how you like to work and puts you in the driver's seat of your information. Go to How to Use the Sort Widget to add it to your page.
  3. Use the Filter Widget to Narrow Content
Organize your data the way you want it—that’s the superpower of the Filter widget! With it, you can narrow down your content to whatever matters most to you. Need to see all the employees in the marketing department? Or maybe list down all the PDF files? Whatever the criteria may be, you can filter them. Check out How to Use the Filter Widget for more details. Plus, here’s a bonus: you can also set a default filter value, just follow the steps in How to Set Default Values for the Filter Widget of the Search and Filter Toolbar to learn how.

Want to know something even better? You can mix and match all three to organize your data! With these powerful tools, you can now navigate through hundreds of data points without the headache. The Locations of ShortPoint

Location Spotlight is on the Philippines

workers in romania

Welcome to another edition of our location spotlight! We're continuing our journey across the globe to showcase the amazing places where ShortPoint team members live and work. This month, we're excited to take you to the beautiful islands of the Philippines, a tropical paradise in Southeast Asia known for its stunning landscapes and incredible talent.

Let's meet two of our brilliant team members from the Philippines: Raziel Ramirez, our Customer Support Manager, and Karl Tungol, our Middle Software Quality Engineer. They've shared their experiences about remote work life and some insider tips for anyone lucky enough to visit their corner of the world.

So, where exactly are Raz and Karl working out of? Raz is based in Metro Manila, the bustling heart of the Philippines. "I've been with ShortPoint since 2021, and the past four years have truly been the best of my career," she shares with enthusiasm. Meanwhile, Karl joins us from Nueva Ecija, a province in Luzon, where he's been embracing the remote work lifestyle for over four years.

What does daily remote work look like for our Filipino teammates? For Raz, it's all about balance. "Remote work means being able to care for my family while also pursuing my personal and professional goals," she explains. She's created a dedicated office space in her home that's more than just a desk - it represents the separate professional role she maintains while still being present for her kids. Though home distractions occasionally pop up, she's grateful that ShortPoint's culture supports her in juggling these responsibilities. Karl sees remote work as a real blessing, especially when it comes to avoiding the infamous Filipino traffic! "One of the best parts is not having to commute, skipping the traffic so I can use that time to be productive and get more things done," he points out. He does admit to missing face-to-face interactions sometimes, which is the one downside of his remote setup.

Both Raz and Karl have found creative ways to mix up their work environments beyond their home offices. Raz is quite the mobile worker - she always packs her laptop when traveling to hotels, resorts, or visiting other homes. "This flexibility allows me to stay productive while still enjoying the beauty of our country's beaches, and even catching a stunning sunset during golden hour, which I love the most," she shares. Karl takes a slightly different approach, occasionally spending time with his extended family for sleepovers to stay connected. "And when the weather's not too hot, I also enjoy working outside to get some fresh air and have a change of environment," he adds.

We couldn't chat with our Filipino colleagues without asking for some local travel recommendations! Raz is proud of her hometown. "While Manila is a bustling city with a large population, one thing we're truly proud of is how warm and welcoming the people are," she says with a smile. Her top suggestion? "I highly recommend visiting the 'Walled City' of Intramuros, where you can experience the rich Filipino culture and history dating back to the Spanish colonial era. It's a great place to walk around, admire the beautiful architecture, and enjoy some delicious local food along the way." Karl, meanwhile, is all about the natural beauty surrounding him. "I'm lucky to live in a place that's close to rivers, waterfalls, and mountains," he tells us. His must-visit spot is Dingalan, Aurora - "It's not too far, and it's the perfect place to disconnect and be one with nature. We can go hiking, ride buggies through river crossings, and find hidden waterfalls. It's a chill place to explore and enjoy the outdoors."

We're so fortunate to have talented team members like Raz and Karl bringing their unique perspectives to ShortPoint from the Philippines! Stay tuned as our global tour continues with another fascinating location where our team members call home.
